Norway is Guest of Honor at the 2019 Frankfurt Book Fair. To mark this occasion, the Consulate General of Norway, in collaboration with the Frankfurt Book Fair New York, will host a networking reception for international and American children’s book publishers and professionals during the Children’s Books Salon.
More than 1,500 international publishers of children's and young adult media exhibit at the Frankfurter Buchmesse to meet each other, experience award ceremonies, and attend other events for professionals and the general public.
In 2018, the new Frankfurt Kids initiative made its debut at the Frankfurter Buchmesse, including new Frankfurt Kids Hub, Illustrators Corner, and Frankfurt Kids Stage located in the Foyer between halls 5.1 and 6.1.
IPR License is the first fully transactional rights and licensing marketplace available within the publishing industry. It provides a dedicated online portal that enables rights holders to complete domestic and international licensing deals.
In May 2015, Frankfurt Book Fair made a significant investment in IPR License, and in April 2016 it acquired control of the company, with the Copyright Clearance Center keeping its minority stake. In June 2017, China South Publishing & Media Group also acquired a part of the company.
